Eva Sedjo is a Chicago, IL based artist whose work is influenced by the relationship between individuals and their narratives. After earning her B.A. in Studio Art from Bethel University, MN, she traveled to Thailand in the fall of 2016. There, she is interning at Faithful Heart Foundation, an orphan-care ministry that works to care for and place orphans into Christian Thai homes. Sedjo plans to continue her education upon her return to the states in order to attain a master’s degree in art therapy. Sedjo’s goals post-licensure include working with traumatized children. Join Sedjo in this piece of her journey as she writes about her experiences in Thailand.

Sedjo is the two year recipient of the Bethel University Art and Design Department Scholarship (2013-2015) and holds a Teacher’s Assistant position within the Art and Design Department (2013-2016). As the former Director of International Justice Mission (2013-2015) and active contributor to the social justice communities on Bethel University’s campus, Sedjo uses her artistic passion to fight for justice and truth. She has supplied the artistic components for several events on Bethel’s campus, such as United Culture of Bethel’s 25th Anniversary Celebration (2016) as well as their Black History Month program (2014).
